陈珈 : 结离陆地

在从纽约回广州的飞机上，一瞬间我意识到这是一个魔幻空间。人们一如往常般呼吸，没人为意到，这里重新排列了世界。 

有限空间里，一张椅子的面积属于一位乘客，这每位乘客都携带着他／她在地面生活时的国籍、语言、饮食习惯、肤色（如果一直生活在机舱，这些乘客持久接受同一角度的阳光，说不定肤色会逐渐趋同…）。在平流层这个相对地球表面的次空间，人们集合成一个临时的“共和体”，被压缩后，朴素的共和体。

地缘失效，两块并不相连的大陆，在34B和34C之间实现了相连。我的旁边坐着一个意大利大叔，金黄的手毛迎着晨光耀耀生辉，我们共同面临茶或咖啡的选择，米饭或面条的选择。民航这种平民交通工具扁平如餐巾纸般重新拼合了世界。而我，试图从座位观察这个新世界，看着眼前屏幕里的地球若有所思。甚而至于让自己悬浮在半空中，离地一万万尺，尝试审视地球与飞机的关系！

Catherine Chen：Beyond the Land

On the plane back to Guangzhou from New York City, in an instant I realized it was a surreal space. As usual, people breathed here. None of them realized the world here has been rearranged.

In a limited space, the area of a chair belongs to a passenger. Every passenger carries his/her nationality, language, diet, skin tone, all were formed when they live on the ground (Imagine they had lived in the cabin for a long time, their absorption of sunlight were from the same angle, their skin tone could little by little become the same…). In stratosphere, a sub-space opposite to earth's surface, people assemble into a temporary “republic”, a compressed, modest republic.

Due to geopolitical failure, two continents not connected were now connected between 34B and 34C. Sitting next to me was an Italian uncle, a shaft of morning glory shone on his golden-haired arm. We both faced with the choice of tea or coffee, rice or noodle. Civilian aviation, a type of civilian transport, flattens the world. Reintegrated by it, the world replaces and reassemble, gaining its new form is like a folded napkin. I tried to observe this new world from my seat, gazing the earth in front of the screen thoughtfully, even allowed myself to be floating in the air, ten thousand meters above the ground, strived to examine this new relationship between the Earth and plane!
